A 74-year-old woman was tragically killed after being pushed in front of a California train at Powell Street Station in San Francisco. The woman hit her head on the train before falling onto the platform and later died in the hospital. The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Trevor Belmont, was arrested shortly after the incident and is facing charges of murder and injuring an elderly person. BART is currently conducting an investigation, interviewing witnesses, processing evidence, and reviewing surveillance footage to determine the motive behind the incident. This is the first homicide on the BART system in 2024.
