2 teenagers detained without bail for robbing boy at gunpoint

Two 15-year-old boys were charged with armed robbery and threats to commit a crime after robbing a 9-year-old boy at gunpoint for his phone, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden’s office. The incident took place at Children’s Park in Boston, where the two teenagers approached the young boy and demanded his iPhone. After he complied, they asked for the passcode, causing the victim to fear for his life.

The boy described feeling terrified during the incident and worrying about being shot if he didn’t cooperate. Thankfully, Boston police were able to track down the two suspects based on descriptions and arrested them shortly after the robbery. The police recovered both the stolen iPhone and the fake gun used in the crime.

The teenagers were arraigned and are being held without bail pending dangerousness hearings on July 30. The victim, who was waiting for a cookout to start when he was targeted, is recovering from the traumatic experience. The quick actions of the police were crucial in apprehending the suspects and ensuring the safety of the community.

This alarming incident serves as a reminder of the need to address youth involvement in crime and the importance of public safety measures. The District Attorney’s office is working to prosecute the perpetrators and prevent future incidents of this nature from occurring.
