Boston Herald reports that Homegrown Lacrosse remains undefeated

Homegrown Lacrosse, a team of junior players, recently wrapped up its season with an impressive undefeated record of 13-0-1. Coached by Jessica Upton, the team showcased a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork, standing out from other club sports teams. The roster featured talented players from the Merrimack Valley Conference and the Middlesex League, including standout players like Brooke Chaput and Emma Ickes.

Despite coming from different areas in Northeastern Massachusetts, the team quickly bonded and developed chemistry both on and off the field. This unity and teamwork helped them excel in various tournaments, including the New England Cup, where they swept the competition, and the 2024 APEX Grind Tournament, where they claimed the championship.

Coach Upton expressed her pride in the team’s growth and improvement throughout the season, noting that many players have the potential to play at the collegiate level. With limited practice time, the players showed tremendous improvement and dedication, leaving a strong impression on college scouts in attendance.

Emma Ickes, one of the star players, highlighted the valuable experience gained from playing with talented teammates and facing tough competition. As the team prepares for the next level of competition, they are poised to continue their success and provide opportunities for players to pursue collegiate lacrosse.

Overall, Homegrown Lacrosse’s undefeated season and dedication to teamwork and growth have impressed players, coaches, and supporters alike, signaling a bright future for the talented team.
