Former Lawrence teacher Jesus Moore, 35, is facing federal sexual assault charges for allegedly transporting a minor across state lines for unlawful sexual conduct, according to the U.S. Attorney for New Hampshire. Moore, indicted on these charges, was employed as a physical education teacher and boys’ basketball coach at Lawrence High School. The incident involving a former student occurred around March 7, 2022, when the victim was under 18 years old.
Moore turned himself in to Manchester police in February and was initially charged with sexual assault in Manchester District Court. He appeared in court recently and was released on conditions, including restrictions on travel. The trial is set to commence on October 1, with a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison for the offense.
Anyone who has experienced sexual assault can seek help by contacting the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 800-656-4673. The case is ongoing, with Moore’s attorneys yet to comment on the matter. This alarming incident underscores the importance of safeguarding against such crimes and holding perpetrators accountable. More updates on the trials and developments in this case are anticipated in the near future.
