Judon misses practice for the second time amid escalating contract talks.

The New England Patriots had a relatively drama-free day at training camp, but the contract situation with linebacker Matthew Judon seems to be escalating as he missed his second consecutive practice. Judon has expressed frustration with his contract and despite saying earlier that he would play on it, he has now been absent for two days in a row. The Patriots, who have the most cap space in the league, have not been able to come to an agreement with Judon.

During practice, the team focused heavily on the run game with Rhamondre Stevenson getting plenty of carries. The offensive line was mostly consistent, except for the absence of David Andrews for undisclosed reasons. The quarterbacks, Drake Maye and Jacoby Brissett, both struggled under pressure from the defense.

Meanwhile, Marcus Jones, who made history by scoring touchdowns on offense, defense, and special teams in a single season two years ago, is focusing on defense this season. Despite some sloppy mistakes during practice, the team is working on cleaning up their play.

Overall, while there was less drama on the field, the lingering contract dispute with Judon continues to be a major storyline for the Patriots as they prepare for the preseason. The team will need to address the situation before the start of the regular season to ensure that they have all key players available.
