The Russian army has intensified pressure on the key Ukrainian transport hub of Pokrovsk, with no casualties reported so far. Russian officials have stated that Ukrainian forces targeted multiple Russian regions with a massive drone barrage. The Defense Ministry reported that 75 drones were intercepted and destroyed over various bordering regions between Russia and Ukraine, including Belgorod, Krasnodar, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Voronezh, and the Ryazan region.
The Rostov region, in particular, was reportedly attacked by 55 drones, with some hitting warehouse facilities in the Morozov and Kamensky districts. Ukrainian forces claimed responsibility for striking an airfield in Morozovsk with guided air bombs, as well as hitting ammunition and fuel depots in other Russian regions.
In response, Russian forces attacked Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, firing 11 missiles. Pokrovsk was hit by seven missiles, causing significant destruction to residential buildings, educational institutions, and various other facilities. However, no casualties were reported as a result of the attack.
Ukrainian Air Forces also reported that Russia attacked Ukraine with 29 drones and four missiles, with Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepting and shooting down 24 drones over nine regions. The extent of the damage caused by the missile attack was not specified in the statement.
The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to escalate, with both sides engaging in drone attacks and missile strikes across various regions. The situation remains volatile as tensions mount in key strategic areas.
