A tragic two-vehicle crash in Wrentham resulted in the death of a 50-year-old Mansfield man on Friday evening, according to State Police. The incident occurred on Route 1 when a 2014 Mercedes CLA sedan attempted an abrupt u-turn from the center travel lane, resulting in a collision with another vehicle traveling northbound. The driver of the Mercedes was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The driver of the second vehicle was unharmed.
Following the crash, the second and third lanes northbound in the area were closed for two and a half hours to facilitate the investigation.
