Actor Charles Cyphers, known for his roles in the “Halloween” franchise and numerous other films and television series, passed away at the age of 85 on August 4 in Tucson, Arizona. His manager, Chris Roe, described him as a lovable and sensitive man with a wealth of stories to share.
Born in 1939 in Niagara Falls, New York, Cyphers was a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and received his Bachelor of Arts in theatre arts from Cal State at LA. He made his film debut in “Truck Turner” in 1974 and went on to work with director John Carpenter in films like “Assault on Precinct 13,” “The Fog,” and “Escape From New York.”
In addition to his work in film, Cyphers appeared in numerous television series throughout his career, including “Barnaby Jones,” “The Six Million Dollar Man,” “Charlie’s Angels,” and “ER,” among others.
Cyphers’ talent and dedication to his craft earned him a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry. His contributions to film and television will be remembered fondly by fans and colleagues alike.
