Hailey Trumble, 19, and Shelby Trumble, 17, were killed in a car accident in Ira, New York last week. Hailey was driving when their car crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle. Their father, Brian Trumble, learned about the tragedy by tracking their phone’s location using the ‘Find My’ Friends app.
The girls were returning home from an amusement park when the crash occurred just 3 miles from their house. Brian arrived at the scene to find that his daughters had been killed. Hailey was set to start a new job, while Shelby had recently graduated high school and was working at a farm stand.
The Trumble family described the sisters as simple country girls who enjoyed animals, crafts, camping, and fishing. They were close and loved watching TV shows together. The family is devastated by the loss and a GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover funeral expenses.
The tragic accident has left the family and community reeling from the loss of the two young girls who were described as full of life, loved, and beautiful. A funeral service has been scheduled for Saturday, August 10th to honor Hailey and Shelby’s memory. The family is grateful for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
