Taylor Swift leads the way as the nominations for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are announced, with 10 nominations including nods for her music video “Fortnight” and in categories such as artist of the year and best pop. Post Malone follows closely behind with eight nominations. Other artists in the artist of the year category include Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA. Swift, who won nine VMAs last year, now has a total of 23, making her one of the most awarded artists in VMA history. The awards show will air live on Sept. 10, with voting for fan favorite categories starting online on Tuesday.
In addition to Swift and Post Malone, artists such as Grande, Carpenter, and Eminem also received multiple nominations. This year sees 29 first-time nominees, including Wallen, Tyla, Benson Boone, and more. The VMAs will be held at the UBS Arena on Long Island, with voting in various categories ending on August 30.
