The Red Sox activated Vaughn Grissom from the injured list and optioned him to Triple-A on Thursday. By sending Grissom to Triple-A, the Red Sox hope to provide him with regular playing time and the opportunity to continue improving both offensively and defensively. This move will also give him the necessary time to recover and ramp up physically after his rehab assignment expired. While Grissom may be disappointed with the decision, the organization believes that it is in his best interest for long-term success.
