Former President Donald Trump is reportedly considering bringing back his former campaign manager and senior counselor Kellyanne Conway for his potential 2024 campaign. Speculation of Conway’s return grew after reports that Trump’s family members, including his wife Melania, son Eric, and daughter-in-law Lara Trump, are pushing for her to rejoin the team. Conway, who was the first woman to oversee a successful U.S. presidential campaign in 2016, left her senior counselor role in the White House in 2020 to focus on her family.
Despite Trump initially facing reelection against President Joe Biden, who has since dropped out of the race, he is now focusing his attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris. Recent polls show Harris leading Trump by three percentage points nationally and in key swing states. Conway, who is known for her work as a pollster and analyst specializing in women and younger voters, could bring valuable insights to Trump’s team.
In her 2022 memoir and recent interviews, Conway has been both critical of and loyal to Trump, warning the Republican Party about the need to court young voters and the Democrats’ turnout machine. If she were to return to Trump’s campaign, Conway’s experience and expertise could prove to be an asset in the highly competitive 2024 election.
