Former reality TV star Josh Seiter recently opened up about the hate and death threats she has faced since coming out as transgender. Seiter, who appeared on The Bachelorette in 2015, shared that she has been the target of online abuse and harassment since revealing her true identity earlier this year. Despite facing negativity throughout her career, Seiter expressed surprise at the lack of acceptance she has found in the LGBTQIA+ community. She claimed that the far left and LGBTQ community have been some of the most vitriolic towards her.
In a heartfelt Instagram post in May, Seiter explained her struggles with gender identity and the mental turmoil she faced trying to hide her authentic self. She announced that she was in the process of transitioning and asked for acceptance from her followers. However, in August, Seiter’s Instagram account was hacked and falsely claimed that she had died. Following the disturbing hoax, Seiter checked into a mental health facility after receiving harassing messages and threats.
In a vulnerable Instagram post, she announced her intention to log off social media and seek treatment for her mental health. Despite the challenges and hate she has faced, Seiter remains determined to be true to herself and hopes for understanding and support from those around her.
