Just days before embarking on a tour of Colombia, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have lost their newly-appointed Chief of Staff, Josh Kettler. Kettler, a seasoned executive with experience at various companies, including Patagonia and Lions Gate Films, joined the royal couple in May but is no longer working for them. It is unclear why he left his position.
This departure marks the sixth staff member to leave Meghan and Harry’s employ since establishing their Archewell organization in 2020. Despite the turnover in staff, the couple is set to travel to Colombia to promote safer digital environments, especially for children. The first World Ministerial Conference on the Elimination of Violence Against Children is scheduled to take place in Colombia in November, addressing issues such as cyberbullying and online exploitation.
During their visit, the Duke and Duchess, along with the Archewell Foundation, will participate in activities related to this important topic. However, one potential issue that may arise during the trip is Prince Harry’s prior admission to using cocaine, as mentioned in his 2023 memoir. A friend of Prince William suggested that Harry should apologize for his participation in the drug trade while in Colombia.
Regardless of any potential controversies, Meghan and Harry seem poised to continue their advocacy work in Colombia and addressing important issues related to children’s safety in the digital age. It remains to be seen whether an interim Chief of Staff will be appointed to support the couple during their busy itinerary in Colombia.
