A tragic two-vehicle crash occurred in Kansas City involving a stolen Kia Soul, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including a 16-year-old driver. The incident happened when a police officer attempted to pull over the stolen Kia Soul for a traffic violation, but the car sped off, leading to a collision with a white Chevrolet Tahoe. The Kia crossed into oncoming traffic to pass the SUV, causing a crash that resulted in multiple injuries and fatalities.
Seven individuals, including four children and three adults, were taken to local hospitals in serious condition after the crash. The driver of the stolen Kia, the 16-year-old, along with a 37-year-old male passenger and an unidentified female passenger, died as a result of the crash. The female passenger died at the hospital, while the two men were declared dead at the scene.
The Chevy driver involved in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The stolen Kia hit a large utility pole and flipped onto its roof, resulting in injuries to the eight occupants in the vehicle, including the driver, passengers, and children of varying ages.
The Kansas City Police Department is investigating the incident, but details on the events leading up to the crash and the identities of the individuals involved have not been released at this time.
