Healey also stayed at the Marriott Le Meridien Visconti in Rome, where she met with Pope Francis, with the trip costing over $30,000. These expenses were covered by the Massachusetts Tourism Trust Fund. Healey emphasized the importance of these trips for building trade and geopolitical alliances, stating that she was honored to attend important events like the climate summit in Italy. Despite criticism, Healey maintains that these expenditures were necessary and justified.
