The WooSox celebrated Puerto Rican Heritage Day by becoming Los Wepas de Worcester and honored Roberto Clemente’s 90th birthday. Eddy Alvarez and Roman Anthony contributed early runs, with Worcester taking a 4-0 lead in the second inning. The IronPigs fought back, scoring three runs in the third to make it a close game. Liam Hendriks made his first rehab appearance with the WooSox, pitching a perfect inning. However, Wyatt Olds struggled in relief, allowing Lehigh Valley to take a 7-5 lead. Worcester rallied in the seventh inning, tying the game and taking the lead with a big hit from Bobby Dalbec. Brian Van Belle shut down the IronPigs in the final two innings to secure the WooSox’ 10-8 victory. Luis Guerrero earned the win, while Zach Haake took the loss for Lehigh Valley. The WooSox will hit the road to face the Norfolk Tides after a day off on Monday, with Shane Drohan set to start on the mound for Worcester.
