Police: Former NFL player forces flight to turn back to Boston after urinating on fellow passenger

A former NFL player, Gosder Cherilus, caused a disruption on a Delta Airlines flight from Boston to Dublin when he allegedly urinated on another passenger. The 40-year-old, who played for the Detroit Lions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Indianapolis Colts, was asked to leave the plane upon its return to Boston Logan International Airport. However, Cherilus became “irate and uncooperative” before being arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing a Flight Crew.

Passengers continued their journey to Dublin on a separate flight later that day. Cherilus, a former Boston College football player who was drafted to the NFL in 2008, is scheduled to be arraigned in East Boston District Court on Monday.

This bizarre incident has raised questions about the behavior of passengers on flights and the safety of air travel. Cherilus’s actions have not only disrupted the flight but also caused inconvenience to other passengers. Airlines and authorities need to ensure the safety and security of passengers while traveling. This incident serves as a reminder for all travelers to be mindful of their actions and behavior while aboard a flight.
