A 6-year-old boy in Ohio was hospitalized after being restrained and attacked by a pit bull over the weekend. Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident. Deputies from the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Savannah where the child had been bitten on the neck and ear by the pit bull. The boy was airlifted for medical treatment and was in serious condition. The investigation revealed that the child was handcuffed by his hands and feet when he was attacked. The child’s mother, a family member of the homeowner, and the mother’s boyfriend were all taken into custody. The homeowner and his dog were not at the scene but were later found hiding in the residence. Charges are pending for the three individuals involved. The dog was labeled vicious and taken in by deputies. The investigation is ongoing. The boy’s condition is unclear. Taylor Ardrey is a news reporter for USA TODAY.
