Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced on Friday that Malden police officer Amanda Grenier will not face criminal charges for shooting Dominique Long, 31, who was accused of punching and robbing a woman in May 2024. Grenier responded to an altercation involving Long and the woman at 260 Eastern Ave. Long had allegedly thrown a cup and punched the woman before pulling out a knife. Despite attempts to de-escalate the situation, Long advanced towards other officers with the knife, leading Grenier to shoot him.
