Teacher from South Shore facing charges for reportedly sending inappropriate texts

Former Hingham Middle School substitute teacher Stephanie Papasodero, 37, of Hull, pleaded not guilty to one count of solicitation to commit a crime punishable by less than five years in state prison. The accusations against her include sending inappropriate messages to students, calling one child a “snitch,” and asking another to give the girl “stitches” after Papasodero was fired for the communication. The district terminated her employment in March after learning of the inappropriate messages.

According to reports, Papasodero continued to contact students even after being told to stop. She allegedly asked students to outcast those she felt were responsible for her termination and even solicited one student to commit a crime. The messages she sent were described as extremely inappropriate, leading to her arraignment in court.

Papasodero’s defense attorney, Joshua Werner, believes that there is insufficient evidence to sustain the complaint against his client. He stated that there is no information presented that could form the basis of the complaint.

Following her arraignment, Papasodero was released on personal recognizance with orders to stay away from the alleged victim and certain school premises. The case, first reported by Boston 25 News, has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of students under the care of substitute teachers and the district’s background check policies. A further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
