Jason Momoa allegedly berates ‘Minecraft’ crew members during filming

Jason Momoa’s behavior on the set of the upcoming “Minecraft” film has been called into question by YouTube streamer Valkyrae. During an interview on fellow YouTuber JasonTheWeen’s channel, Valkyrae alleged that she witnessed Momoa mistreating some crew members, expressing disappointment in his behavior, especially after an intense and emotional scene. She claimed Momoa was angry and yelling at crew members for not setting up the shot correctly, creating a tense work environment. Valkyrae also revealed that she has a cameo in the film.

Momoa’s role in the “Minecraft” movie, where he plays Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison, is set to be released in theaters in April 2025. The film, directed by Jared Hess, is an adventure comedy based on the popular video game “Minecraft,” allowing players to create 3D worlds. Momoa’s casting was announced in April 2022, and despite production delays and setbacks, filming in New Zealand finally wrapped in April 2024.

This is not the first time Momoa has faced allegations of improper behavior on set. Previously, accusations arose during the filming of “Aquaman 2,” where Momoa was said to arrive intoxicated and dressed as his co-star Amber Heard’s ex, Johnny Depp. However, a DC spokesperson denied these claims, stating that Momoa always conducted himself professionally during the production of “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” The “Minecraft” film also features a star-studded cast including Jack Black, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers, Matt Berry, and Jennifer Coolidge, promising an exciting and entertaining viewing experience for audiences in 2025.
