Hezbollah leader Nasrallah condemns Israel’s attacks on Lebanon as crossing ‘all red lines’ in ongoing conflict

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has denounced the recent pager and walkie-talkie attacks on his group in Lebanon and Syria as crossing “all red lines” and has promised retaliation against Israel. In a televised speech, Nasrallah called the attacks a “big blow” but stated that they have not weakened Hezbollah’s resolve to fight in support of Palestinians in Gaza. The attacks, which Hezbollah blames on Israel, have left at least 37 people dead and over 2,900 wounded.
Despite the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, Israeli authorities have not taken responsibility for the attacks or commented on them. Israeli leaders have been warning of a potential larger military operation against Hezbollah, while Nasrallah warned that Israelis who have evacuated from the border area will not be allowed to return.
Nasrallah described the attacks as a “declaration of war” against Lebanon’s sovereignty and its people, emphasizing that Hezbollah’s infrastructure was not impacted. Analysts predict further escalation in the conflict in the coming days or weeks, as Hezbollah plans its response to the attacks. Meanwhile, two Israeli soldiers were killed in attacks by Hezbollah in northern Israel, prompting the Israeli army to announce new attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon in an effort to degrade the group’s capabilities.
