Conservative pundit Tucker Carlson, who previously promoted Zyn nicotine pouches, is now distancing himself from the brand due to supposed political differences. Carlson stated in an interview with Old Row that he is going through a transition and will no longer use the Zyn brand, which he claimed is made by a company that supports Kamala Harris. However, the parent company of Zyn, Philip Morris International, clarified that they do not make political contributions to presidential campaigns.
Despite this, subsidiary Swedish Match North America, which oversees the Zyn brand, has donated to political campaigns, with a majority of contributions going to Republicans. Carlson, who was previously a fan of Zyn, is now starting his own company called Alp Nicotine Pouches as a replacement to Zyn. He has not responded to requests for comment on the matter.
This change of heart comes after Senator Chuck Schumer raised concerns about Zyn as a nicotine product and its potential impact on teens. Carlson had previously spoken highly of Zyn on various platforms, claiming it could increase testosterone and have other benefits. Now, his shift away from the brand reflects his changing views and desire to start his own venture in the nicotine pouch market.
