The Powerball lottery jackpot continues to grow, reaching an estimated $195 million after a lucky winner in Pennsylvania claimed $44 million in the August 19 drawing. The winning numbers from Saturday’s drawing were 17-19-21-37-45, with a Powerball of 14 and a Power Play of 2X. Additionally, the Double Play drawing had the numbers 04-17-37-46-49, with a Powerball of 19.
Players in select locations have the opportunity to participate in the Double Play feature, which offers a second chance to match their Powerball numbers in a separate drawing with a top cash prize of $10 million.
Powerball is available in 45 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, while the Double Play add-on feature can be purchased in 13 lottery jurisdictions. A $2 ticket gives players a one in 292.2 million chance of winning the jackpot, with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time.
The lump sum payment for the current jackpot, before taxes, would be approximately $98.1 million. With the deadline to purchase tickets set at 9:45 p.m. on drawing days, players are encouraged to check their numbers and see if they are the next big winner.
