Taisun Phommachanh led FBS independent Massachusetts to their first victory of the season, throwing three touchdown passes in a 35-31 win over Central Connecticut. Despite Central Connecticut’s Brady Olson throwing two touchdowns, they were held to just 247 total yards, while UMass amassed 450 yards of offense. Jakobie Keeney-James and T.Y. Harding were Phommachanh’s top targets, both contributing to the team’s success in the passing game.
