Israeli airstrikes targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon result in the deaths of 100 individuals

Explosions rocked Lebanon on Monday as Israel carried out extensive airstrikes, killing at least 100 people and injuring over 400. The attacks were in retaliation for Hezbollah’s use of pagers and walkie-talkies that exploded across Lebanon, killing 37 and injuring over 2,700, in an attack believed to be linked to Israel. This escalation raised fears of a full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah.

The airstrikes hit various locations in Lebanon from the southern border to the north near Syria, with reports of thick smoke rising from buildings. The death toll rapidly rose to at least 100, and many more were wounded.

Israel claimed to have targeted over 300 Hezbollah sites, stating that the strikes were in response to indicators that Hezbollah was preparing to fire on Israeli territory. Israeli residents received warning calls instructing them to evacuate to ensure their safety.

Hezbollah responded by launching dozens of rockets towards Israeli military posts. Tensions between the two parties escalated after the explosive incidents in Lebanon and subsequent airstrikes by both sides.

The situation remains tense as both Israel and Hezbollah continue to engage in violent actions. The attacks have caused significant harm to civilians and raised concerns about the potential for a larger conflict between the two parties.
