Westfield councilors give green light to contractor’s yard with access on Southampton Rd.

The City Council of Westfield recently approved a proposal by Ryan Geeleher and RYMC LLC to build a contractor’s yard off North Road. The vote was unanimous at 12-0 and will include five buildings totaling 34,200 square feet, 47 parking spots, and a stormwater basin. Geeleher needed special permits, site plan approval, and a stormwater permit from the council before proceeding with the project.

The contractor’s yard will have a driveway leading to Southampton Road and is expected to provide a space for various construction-related activities. The approval of this project will not only benefit the developers but also contribute to the economic growth and development of the city.

Councilor Kristen Mello abstained from the vote due to missing a previous public hearing, but the majority of the council saw the potential benefits of the project and approved it without any objections. The construction of this contractor’s yard is seen as a positive step towards improving the infrastructure and opportunities for businesses in Westfield.

Overall, the approval of this project reflects the council’s effort to support local businesses and encourage economic development in the city. The construction of the contractor’s yard will create jobs, provide a space for construction activities, and contribute to the overall growth and prosperity of Westfield.
