A husband shot his wife outside a southern Kansas elementary school after dropping off their children, resulting in a domestic shooting at around 9:15 a.m. local time. The incident occurred in front of Cessna Elementary School in Wichita, with the victim sustaining a gunshot wound in the chest before seeking help from the school. When a deputy arrived, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim’s head, leading the deputy to shoot and arrest the suspect after a brief struggle. The Lyft driver who dropped off the couple at the school before the shooting has been interviewed along with other witnesses. Both the suspect and the victim were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The school was placed on lockdown during the incident, but no students, teachers, or staff were injured. Law enforcement responded quickly to the situation, preventing any harm to the school. As of now, there have been no reports of any school shooting or children being in danger. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted for further information on the incident.
