The Boston Red Sox are set to make some changes to their jerseys in 2025, as reported by MassLive’s Chris Cotillo. The team will retire their blue alternate jerseys and introduce a new “City Connect” jersey next summer. However, their popular yellow jerseys inspired by the Boston Marathon will remain as a core uniform option for the team. Red Sox chief marketing officer Adam Grossman confirmed that the yellow jerseys will remain a staple for the foreseeable future.
As part of the jersey reshuffling, the Red Sox will have their regular home whites, alternate home reds, road grays, and yellow jerseys in rotation, with the new City Connect jerseys being added as a fifth option for certain games. The blue alternate jerseys, worn during the team’s 2018 World Series victory, will be replaced by the new City Connects, although the design has not yet been revealed.
The Red Sox have had success while wearing their yellow jerseys, boasting a record of 35-13 since their debut in 2021. The team’s traditional home whites and alternate red jerseys will continue to be part of their regular lineup, with the addition of the new City Connect jerseys for the upcoming season. Fans can look forward to seeing the Red Sox in their updated uniforms on the field in 2025.
