Patriots offensive tackle Vederian Lowe, left guard Michael Jordan, and cornerback Alex Austin missed Thursday’s practice due to knee and ankle injuries. Outside linebacker Anfernee Jennings was upgraded to limited participation, which could be crucial against the 49ers’ strong rushing attack.
Several other Patriots players were listed as limited, including C David Andrews, TE Hunter Henry, and CB Jonathan Jones. G Michael Onwenu and S Jabrill Peppers were full participants in practice.
If Lowe and Wallace are unable to play on Sunday, Demontrey Jacobs could potentially start at left tackle. Jacobs was claimed off waivers from the Broncos in August.
The Patriots are facing a tough matchup against the 49ers and will need their defense at full strength to try and contain their opponent’s offense. With key players dealing with injuries, the team will need to rely on their depth and backups to step up and fill in when needed. The status of these players will be closely monitored leading up to Sunday’s game.
