Footage reveals Hurricane Helene’s destruction of the ‘world’s fanciest’ McDonald’s

A McDonald’s in Asheville, North Carolina, located in the historic Biltmore Village, was extensively damaged during Hurricane Helene, causing catastrophic flooding in the area. The franchise, known as the “world’s fanciest” McDonald’s, was built in 2000 and featured high-society elegance with red oak tables, wrought iron railings, chandeliers, and a baby grand piano. The restaurant also had a giant stone chimney. The damage caused by the storm has forced Biltmore Village to remain closed for assessment until at least October 15, with the possibility of a longer closure. The McDonald’s is now covered in at least a foot of mud, according to reports. Customers who frequented the upscale McDonald’s are now unable to visit due to the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Helene. The destruction caused by the storm across the Southeastern states has led to the closure of many businesses, including McDonald’s and Wendy’s locations, leaving families missing their favorite dining spots. Despite never having eaten at the fancy McDonald’s himself, Uber and Lyft driver Vitor Sa drives by the corner regularly and has observed the devastation caused by the storm.
