Lowell boys make history in pursuit – Boston Herald

The boys’ soccer team at Lowell High School is off to a strong start this season with a record of 10-0-0. Led by a solid goalie, Ikaro Da Silva, the team has climbed to second place in the MIAA statewide power rankings. With key offensive contributors like Davi DeSouza, Ilembo Kiza, Paul Pace Jr., and Alexander Garcia, the Red Raiders have outscored their opponents 32-6. The team remains focused on maintaining their chemistry and momentum to potentially secure a Div. 1 championship, which would be a historic achievement for Lowell.

On the girls’ side, the Scituate Sailors, led by coach Matt Jones and center midfielder Cici Griffin, remain undefeated at 8-0-1. The team’s strong defensive performance, led by goalkeeper Molly Quirk, has only allowed three goals all season. With important wins against tough opponents like Duxbury, Hanover, and Whitman-Hanson, Scituate is currently ranked sixth overall in the state power rankings. The team is focused on maintaining their positive attitude and team chemistry as they aim to return to the Div. 2 tournament, facing challenges like a rematch against Notre Dame.

Both teams emphasize the importance of taking each game as it comes and focusing on improving as a team. The road ahead for both Lowell High School’s boys’ soccer team and Scituate’s girls’ team will be tough, with strong opponents in their respective leagues. Coaches and players alike are determined to stay grounded, work hard, and continue to play the best soccer they can as they pursue their championship goals.
