Tim Walz to Headline Fundraising Event in Cincinnati for Re-Election Campaign

Local Democrats in Cincinnati, Ohio, gathered for a campaign fundraising event for Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, headlined by Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, who is currently the governor of Minnesota. The event was hosted at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and was attended by notable city politicians and leaders.

During the event, Walz spoke about the importance of turning out the vote and the values that the Democratic Party holds dear. Former Ohio Health Director Dr. Amy Acton and former Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper were also seen leaving the event, with Acton indicating that she is considering running for Ohio governor in 2026.

The event also featured music from funk legend Bootsy Collins and attracted protestors advocating for an arms embargo. Actor and activist Mario Van Peebles was also in attendance, expressing the need to support the Democratic ticket in order to protect the rights of future generations.

While some had hoped to see Vice President Kamala Harris at the event, she was visiting North Carolina to survey storm recovery efforts. Cincinnati Democrats are working to make the region relevant on the national stage for Democrats, even though Ohio is considered less of a swing state in recent elections. Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown and other candidates will be on the ballot in November, with early voting starting on October 8.

Overall, the event was a gathering of local Democrats and supporters, with a focus on energizing the base and promoting Democratic values in the lead up to the election.
