SJP Chapter at Tufts University Suspended Following Call to Join Student Intifada by Anti-Israel Group

Tufts University has suspended the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) group following a series of violations of university policy, including the use of images of assault rifles to promote a protest event. The suspension was imposed after SJP called for students to “Join the Student Intifada!” on social media, referencing a terrorist attack by Hamas last year.

The Anti-Defamation League praised the university for taking swift action in response to the use of violent imagery by SJP. The group’s suspension will remain in effect until the case is fully resolved, and they are required to halt all activities, events, and meetings during this time.

Last year, SJP faced backlash for supporting Hamas terrorists in Israel, and their recent suspension comes after failing to meet requirements from previous disciplinary actions related to protests on campus. The university emphasized the importance of free speech and advocacy while maintaining a respectful learning environment free from disruption.

Despite the suspension, SJP has stated that they will not back down or apologize for their actions. They argue that the university’s decision to suspend them over a flyer for a protest is unjust, considering their opposition to Israel’s actions in Gaza, which they claim are funded by tuition and tax dollars.
