Police in New York City have arrested two more individuals in connection to a reported gang attack on former Governor David Paterson and his stepson. The two suspects, Travor Nurse and Diamond Minter, are both employees of the NYC Housing Authority. The attack took place on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where the former governor and his son were walking their family dog. The altercation escalated into a physical assault, resulting in injuries to both victims. Paterson and his stepson were taken to the hospital and later released in stable condition. The attack was reportedly carried out by five individuals who had a previous interaction with the governor’s stepson. The two teenage boys involved turned themselves in to police with their parents. Paterson, who served as the 55th governor of New York, was the first Black person to hold the position. He took over as governor in 2008 after Eliot Spitzer’s resignation and held the post until 2010. The cause of the attack is still under investigation, and the suspects’ employment status, bond, and attorney information is not immediately known.
