Swayman Could Be a Viable Choice for Bruins on Tuesday

Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman could potentially start the team’s season opener against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night, despite missing all of training camp and preseason due to contract negotiations. Head coach Jim Montgomery has not officially ruled out Swayman as an option in net for the game. Swayman expressed confidence in his readiness, stating that he remained in game shape by working out at Boston University during the training camp.

Swayman, who was a standout player for the Bruins during their playoff series against the Panthers last season, emphasized his eagerness for the challenge of potentially starting in Tuesday’s game. Montgomery praised Swayman’s energy and sharpness during practice on Monday, suggesting that the 25-year-old goaltender could be a valuable asset to the team.

While Swayman’s availability for the season opener remains uncertain, the Bruins released their Opening-Night roster, which includes forwards Johnny Beecher, Charlie Coyle, and Brad Marchand, among others. Notably absent from the lineup is veteran forward Tyler Johnson, whose status with the team is in question due to limited cap space.

Regardless of who starts in net for the Bruins on Tuesday, the team can be assured that their franchise goalie is back in action and ready to contribute. Fans can expect an exciting matchup as Boston kicks off their season against the Panthers, showcasing their depth and talent on the ice.
