Fans of the new movie musical “Wicked” starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo can now start purchasing tickets for the highly anticipated film, set to be released on November 22. In a clip announcing the ticket sales, Grande’s character Glinda is seen grabbing everyone’s attention, followed by snippets of the beloved track “Popular.” The official soundtrack can also be preordered as of October 9th, with the release date set alongside the film.
To celebrate the upcoming release, Universal shared new art inspired by the original Broadway poster, featuring Grande and Erivo as Glinda and Elphaba. The film tells the story of their friendship and how their lives take different paths after meeting The Wizard of Oz.
In a press release, Universal described the movie as exploring Glinda’s desire for popularity and Elphaba’s determination to stay true to herself. Grande and Erivo shared their excitement in a video posted by Universal in May, expressing gratitude and joy at being part of the production.
Erivo especially expressed how grateful she was for the opportunity, while Grande was thrilled to take on the role of Glinda. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of “Wicked” and can now secure their tickets for this musical experience.
