The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester has announced that they will cover the cost of tuition for families with a total income of $100,000 or less. As one of the top priorities of the college is to ensure that all talented students from different backgrounds have access to a Holy Cross education and can flourish on campus and beyond.
The college’s website states that the total cost of attendance, including tuition, housing, food plan, and health service and activity fees, is close to $85,000 without aid. This makes Holy Cross comparable in cost to some of its peer institutions such as Tufts University, Wellesley College, and Boston University, which can cost as much as $95,000 a year in tuition, fees, and insurance.
This new initiative builds upon the college’s 2022-23 financial aid program that offered full tuition coverage for families with a total income of $75,000 or less. The College of the Holy Cross provided $76.5 million in financial aid in the 2023-24 academic year, with 65% of students receiving need-based grants.
Holy Cross President Vincent D. Rougeau expressed pride in deepening the commitment to expanding educational opportunities for more young people through this new full tuition coverage program. The institution ensures that all students who need financial aid can access it.
This new initiative aims to make a Holy Cross education more accessible to a wider range of students, regardless of their financial circumstances.
