Holy Cross secures eighth consecutive series victory against Fordham in 19-16 win

In a thrilling college football match, Holy Cross secured a 19-16 victory over Fordham, marking coach Dan Curran’s first home win at Holy Cross. Jayden Clerveaux was instrumental in the victory, rushing for 159 yards on 30 carries. The win also allowed Holy Cross to retain possession of the Ram-Crusader Cup for the eighth consecutive year.

The game saw Holy Cross take the lead in the fourth quarter with a 3-yard scoring pass from Joe Pesansky to Jacob Petersen after a 75-yard drive. Despite Fordham having a chance to respond in the final minutes, they failed to capitalize as a pass from Jack Capaldi went incomplete, followed by unsuccessful attempts to find open receivers.

Pesansky finished with 150 passing yards and two touchdowns to Petersen, while Capaldi threw for 199 yards for Fordham. Bennett Henderson impressed for Fordham with three successful field goals, including a long 52-yarder.

The victory marked a significant moment for Holy Cross as they improved to 3-4 for the season and 2-0 in the Patriot League, while Fordham fell to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The win undoubtedly served as a morale booster for Holy Cross and set the tone for their upcoming matches.
