Two lucky players in Massachusetts struck it big with a $100,000 win each during the daily lottery drawing on Saturday. The winning numbers for the Oct. 12 drawing were 8, 13, 15, 22 and 32, and both winners played the “Mass Cash” game. One winning ticket was sold at S&M Liquors in Wakefield, while the other was purchased at Trucci’s Market in Middleborough.
Overall, there were at least 231 prizes worth $600 or more won or claimed in Massachusetts that day, with 12 in Springfield, two in Worcester, and 18 in Boston. The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes a daily list of winning tickets, but only includes prizes over $600.
The largest lottery prize won in Massachusetts so far this year was worth $1 million a year for life, from the “Lifetime Millions” scratch ticket game. The winner claimed their prize through a trust on July 10, and chose to receive a one-time payment of $15.4 million. As lottery players in Massachusetts continue to try their luck, the wins of these two players serve as a reminder that big prizes can be won on any given day.
