Nearly 3% of registered voters in Massachusetts have already cast their ballots for the upcoming November election, according to a report by WCVB Boston.
The early voting period in Massachusetts began on October 17th and will continue until October 30th. As of now, over 364,000 voters have already participated in early voting, representing around 2.87% of the state’s registered voters.
This year’s election is expected to have a high voter turnout due to the highly contentious presidential race and various state and local races on the ballot. Massachusetts residents have also been encouraged to vote early in order to avoid long lines and crowded polling places on Election Day.
The early voting process in Massachusetts allows voters to cast their ballots in person at designated polling locations, as well as via mail-in and absentee ballots. This year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the state has expanded its early voting options to accommodate those who may be at higher risk of contracting the virus.
Voters in Massachusetts have also been able to track the status of their mail-in ballots online, ensuring that their vote is counted in a timely manner.
With less than two weeks left until Election Day, Massachusetts residents are reminded to make their voices heard by participating in the democratic process and casting their ballots either through early voting or in person on November 3rd.
