Four employees of ABM Industry Groups, who were responsible for revenue collection and operations at Logan Express sites in Braintree and Framingham, will be facing criminal charges after allegedly stealing bus ticket revenues. The Massachusetts Port Authority has terminated its contract with ABM as a result of the theft and has hired a forensic auditor to conduct an audit of all Logan Express sites managed by ABM. The investigation into the thefts began earlier this year after officials received a tip about suspicious activity at the Braintree site, which was confirmed by a State Police investigation. Additional information led to an investigation at the Framingham site, resulting in criminal charges being filed against a fourth employee in August.
Massport CEO Rich Davey expressed disappointment in ABM’s failures and emphasized the importance of honesty and high service standards from contractors. A new operator will take over management of the Logan Express sites next month. The names of the employees facing charges and the specific criminal charges they are facing were not provided by officials.
