Sophomore Emery Cappallo is making a significant impact on the Monomoy field hockey team this season, helping them to a 15-0-2 record and a return to the state final. Cappallo, who switched to center-forward this year, has scored seven hat tricks and is one of the state’s top scorers. She spends hours on her own perfecting her skills in a specialized training room at her house. Coach and father Kyle Cappallo recognized her talent early on and has been coaching her throughout her career. The team, made up of a talented roster, is poised for another deep playoff run.
In other field hockey news, Acton-Boxboro has rebounded from a slow start to become a potential sleeper team, with midfielder Sarah Ryan standing out. Medfield secured the Tri-Valley League Small title with a win over Dover-Sherborn, while Walpole has benefitted from the consistent scoring of Kate Schneider and Caitlyn Naughton.
