Man from Massachusetts charged with murder following deadly shooting at Vermont trailer park

A Massachusetts man, Fabrice Rumama, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Shawn Spiker from New Hampshire at a Vermont trailer park. The incident took place in the early hours of Oct. 14 at a home in the Kneeland Flats Trailer Park in Waterbury.

Vermont State Police responded to the scene after receiving a call around 12:45 a.m. and found both Spiker and another man, 57-year-old Michael Perry from Waterbury, suffering from gunshot wounds. Sadly, Spiker did not survive his injuries.

Rumama, a 20-year-old resident of Springfield, was taken into custody on Saturday following the investigation. The details surrounding the motive for the shooting have not been disclosed by police.

This tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning the loss of Spiker. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward.

The arrest of Rumama underscores the seriousness with which law enforcement is treating the case and serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing and preventing senseless acts of violence in our communities. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of Shawn Spiker during this difficult time.
