Home team Railers defeated by Reading

The Worcester Railers faced a tough 2-1 loss against the Reading Royals on Sunday afternoon in front of a crowd of 2,621. Despite putting three shots in the net, only one goal by Anthony Repaci was allowed to count, resulting in the final score. Repaci was involved in one of the disallowed goals due to interference, and another goal was waved off after a whistle was blown.

The game featured an excellent goaltending duel between John Muse and Parker Gahagen, with Gahagen ultimately coming out on top. Despite falling behind 2-0 after the first period, the Railers fought back with Repaci’s late goal in the third period, assisted by Cam McDonald and Riley Piercey.

The Railers were missing two experienced defensemen who moved up to the AHL, and two inexperienced players made their professional debuts in this game. Worcester’s next home game is scheduled for November 8 against the Maine Mariners, following a five-game road swing.

Repaci’s goal tied him for third in city history with 66 goals, and attendance at the game was 2,621. Worcester has two players on injured reserve, and rookie Justin Gill had multiple scoring chances during the game, including a 120-foot breakaway that he did not convert. The Railers will continue their season with upcoming games on the road before returning home next month.
