In preparation for their upcoming game against the Jets, the New England Patriots faced a setback during Wednesday’s practice as they were down two offensive starters and four players in total. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson, wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk, offensive guard Layden Robinson, and linebacker Curtis Jacobs were all absent from practice. Stevenson returned from a foot injury to play in their last game, while Polk is in concussion protocol after suffering a head injury. Robinson and Jacobs also missed practice due to injuries sustained in the previous game.
Defensive lineman Keion White and left tackle Vederian Lowe were limited in practice, with Lowe still recovering from an ankle sprain that caused him to miss the last game. The Patriots also added linebacker Kewshawn Banks, who recently joined the team after time with the Packers and in the USFL. Banks may have filled the open practice squad spot left by the release of long snapper Tucker Addington.
The Patriots are expected to release their first injury report of the week later on Wednesday evening. The team will need to make adjustments to their lineup to compensate for the missing players as they prepare to face the Jets in the upcoming game.
