In a recent interview with TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie, Suzanne Morrison, the mother of late “Friends” star Matthew Perry, opened up about the tender moments she shared with her son before his tragic death. Perry, who died at the age of 54 in October 2023, was found unconscious in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. The autopsy report revealed that he died of acute effects of ketamine, a drug he had reportedly been using unsupervised and had become addicted to.
Five individuals, including Perry’s personal assistant, doctors, and an alleged drug dealer, have been charged in connection with his death. Authorities claimed that these individuals took advantage of Perry’s vulnerable condition to profit themselves, despite knowing the risks they were exposing him to.
Perry, who had been reportedly clean for 19 months before his death, had been vocal about his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, as well as depression. His family released a statement expressing their heartbreak over his passing, but also stating their belief in the justice system to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
The case highlights the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of seeking help and support. The interview with Morrison is set to air on October 28 on TODAY, giving viewers a glimpse into the intimate moments she shared with her son before his untimely death.
