Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are both ramping up their campaign efforts in battleground states this weekend ahead of the Nov. 5 Election Day. Polls show a tight race in key states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina.
Former first lady Michelle Obama will join the Democratic presidential candidate for a Get Out the Vote rally in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Harris’ running mate, will campaign in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and Arizona. Harris will also travel to Philadelphia and Ann Arbor with singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers.
In a strategic move, Harris will give a speech on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., just one week before the election, aiming to sway last-minute voters. The campaign expects a crowd of nearly 8,000 people. Francesca Chamber, Joey Garrison, and Reuters contributed to the reporting of this story.
