Musician John Legend recently opened up about the late-term abortion that his wife, Chrissy Teigen, had to undergo due to life-threatening complications. Legend shared that Teigen was well past 15 weeks into her pregnancy when she suffered a partial placental abruption, which put both her and their baby’s lives at risk. The couple’s son, Jack, unfortunately did not survive.

She expressed her profound sadness and apologized to her son for not being able to give him the chance to grow up. In honor of Jack, Legend and Teigen got matching tattoos of his name on their wrists.
